El Carafate

Perito Moreno Glacier in El Carafate is a famous tousty spot ... Unfortunately, I was late to get here, I heard, as the town had changed dramatically after there was an aiport built in 2003. It used to be a very quiet remote place on Ruta 40, and now its quite the opposite.... The town was very expensive and very loud, with a huge Casino, a la Las Vegas style.... The hike thats called ¨Big Ice¨was really expensive, but still great!!! They gave us the special ¨clamping¨shoes an we hiked on the ice for 3 hours. The lunch was really cool, we sat right on the ice to eat and got the water from the best source, the glacier!!! Its quite dangerous, so we had 1 guide for 4 toursts to make sure we dont fall anywhere we are not supposed to :)
